I recently started sanding my nova the other day and I decided I'm just going to primer it until summer. I would like pics of primered novas to see if I like a light or dark color primer. Thanks

I agree. More info. on wheels and tire size please. They look like they're off a Camaro SS?

Greetings,

A buddy of mine has those rims on his IROC-Z...they are 2002 Camaro SS wheels, 17X9 1/2"...First time I've seen them on a Nova. Looks good.

Trbulnc.......Very nice, has the body been blocked? If it hasn't been prep'd, that is even more amazing! Thats the one thing that sucks with mine, it hasn't been body worked yet. I've just quickly blocked mine enough to have a good base for the Epoxy. I so can't wait to get mine in the booth. Trb....Are you going to keep the car in the primer or going to paint?

Also, many thanks to you guys on the prop's for the work I've done....This is by far one of the coolest sites around and one of the most helpful

Oh, back to the post, that primer goes on alot lighter, it dries about 2/3 shades darker.

Flyer.........You know I need to post that old video....I really wish I had something to show new with the car, just a Rack system and probably the last thing until money saved for the body

Later guys

Red oxide primer is better for wheelies!!http://images16.fotki.com/v273/photos/4/42437/3236199/IMG_9380-vi.jpg
Here's a little better shot, but not as high

Bowtie0069 how much massaging to get 10.5 tire under the car?Did you just roll the lip up or mini tub it?That is way too cool, that's one for my home photo album.

Kind of like how decals make more horsepower for imports? ;)

novaBRO, that looks like a pretty intense slope down to your driveway, your car's chassis doesnt rub? hmmm, as long as u dont try to park any lowriders in there :)

It is mini-tubbed now, but I had the tire on there with the stock set-up quite a while. The lips are rolled and I did some pushing out on the 1/4 panels with a scissor jack inside the opening, while beating the bejeezus out of the fenderwells with a big hammer. Got an extra 3/4" clearance and didn't notice the wrinkles high up on the 1/4 panels for almost a week!! Had to do a little smoothing and a lot of block sanding too.

Thanks at some point in time mine were rolled & I think I'm going to leave them up for more tire clearance.

Thanks for the compliments all, was out for Bristol so I was gone for a few days. The car needs to be blocked again, it isn't ready for paint by any means. There are a few places which need a little more attention, but not bad from 5 ft. away but getting there. I want to finish the motor and get it going before I go back to working on the body more which hopefully will be in the next monthish. At the moment, I like the primer black and will probably go with that for a while.

that's San Francisco for ya lots of hills and small crapy garages. my house is pretty old, built in 1911 had no garage. my dad dug that out himself and put in the garage. cool huh?
