These eyebrows were in the trunk of a 62 nova I just bought. Pretty sure they are off of a 65 but just checking.

Just wait till the rest of the 65 guys find out you got a set in good condition. Won't take you long to sell them off, trust me.. One of the many non-reproduction 65 parts. How much do you want for them?

I really don't know what they are worth??? I know on e-bay they go for big bucks but I don't think thats a good reference because everything I see on there that I'm interested in I think is too high.

Also are 65 fenders the same as 62-64 because the eyebrows line up with the fenders I have?

thanks

While my car sits in the driveway waiting for me to muster enough money and courage to get it back on the road...while it sits there day in and out...it's starting to look like someone might just... I decided to PLUCK IT'S EYEBROWS OFF and throw them in the garage!!!!! Yeah if they are worth that much then i don't want some jerk running into my driveway trying to steal them. What if i am not home and my wife is alone....This is ridiculous.

Would someone please re-pop these damn things in plastic and retail them for $29 so I don't have to lose sleep anymore. For Cryin Out Loud! It's stupid. Where are the Chinese manufacturers when you need them? Ha ha.;)

I saw that set go for $610 (holly cow) and I figured it was worth a shot so I put my set on ebay. I don't expect that will happen twice but I sure wouldn't complain.

The previous owner of my car used a sheet metal screw with a security head that you needed a special adapter to get if off....now I know why and that was 3 years ago!!!

Look at the bid history the price was intensionally driven up smells like a rat to me. I'll bet either thet get relisted or someone get's a second chance offer to buy them for less. I see this all the time on Ebay. Have you ever seen them sell for this much? No, and you probably won't again. The guy from Calexico sells the repops on Ebay for around $200 bucks all the time.

Hang the Gougers! Greed ruins this hobby!

I just want to drive my car and park it now and then without some f#*k lookin to size up the parts he can steal in a parking lot for his next meth buy.

Sorry I get a little hot on this subject sometimes.

You guys can really bust balls.

All I want is some cash to buy some parts that I actually need and Ebay looked like the best option, I'll know better next time

The name of the game is supply and demand....if I didn't need my spares, I'd be throwing them up there as well. Fuzzy, you may not get half the price of that auction but whatever you do get can go towards other parts for your car....makes sense to me....Good Luck!!

I guess NPHNP goes right down the crapper when taking about the value of eyebrows. I'd rather sell in the classifieds here on the site to a guy who sincerely needs parts for his resto rather than ebay, which for me would be a last resort. I've sold a couple items here that I could have sold on ebay for much more, but I got what I wanted and didn't feel a need to gouge anyone.

I had rather post them here also to start with but then they will have to hit Ebay. I am not sure all the guys here look at the classifieds.

I can`t afford new 65 brows with all the gouging so I just used the bad ones I have til they become affordable.

I'm new here but MAN, is there a lot of hate or what??? Fuzzy......do what you have to do to help fund your ride!! I checked out your auction when it started and your starting price was $40 and no reserve. Now that don't sound like gouging to me, now if you had put a $300 reserve then yea. That's the great thing about ebay, the seller doesn't set the price, the bidders do so if someone wants to pay $600, let em. I sell stuff on eBay not to gouge people, but so that I can get the most out of what I have to sell so I can buy what i need. I've done plenty of "good buddy deals" in my life but that doesn't help me buy parts. Maybe some people here are mad cause they don't have the opportunity to make some easy cash for their project. I don't think it's greed at all, more like necessity to me. If it helps provide a means to your end goal, do it. At least you are not just sitting on them cause "they will be worth more someday". Everyone knows how hard it can be to come up with the extra money to buy the lastest and greatest for our cars especially on a budget and in todays economy. Easy money is hard to come by so MORE POWER TO YA BROTHER!!!!!!

Welcome itsjustme! :)

This thread temperament is far from being the "norm" around here, so please don't judge the attitudes of a few on this single heated discussion. Some folks are just rather passionate about their eye brows. What can I say!

FWIW, I'd sell them on e-bay and not feel the least bit concerned. Hey, if someone want's them bad enough, they're his. ;)

IMO, removing them from my ride so they don't get "stolen" is being a little paranoid if you ask me, but to each his own. :D

Welcome to the site. This ain't the norm, but like they say above, some are wanting to finish the cars and seems like the peices just go outa site. We are a happy bunch of guys and sometimes in print it just sounds worse. Wish I had some eyebrows to sell myself.:D

We should be fortunate that all our cars are not "super muscle cars". Look at prices for parts for Hemi cars, L-79's, Yenko, Shelby's. etc....I bought a 66 Charger years ago and couldn't get over some of the prices for parts. I realize not much is reproduced but because the car could come with a hemi then the prices go even higher. 8 years ago a set of NOS tail light lens were going for $1200 The chrome going around the tail lights was ridiculous as well. The eyebrows for these cars are normally pitted and easily damaged. If you were sell some NOS ones and I would suspect they can now go for over$1000 each. The 66's are not even a very desireable car and don't commend high selling prices when you consider the parts prices. Try pricing some Cuda and Shelby parts. Very high and the price of the car is very high as well.

Let's face it guys, the Nova parts are getting rare and the one-off year stuff like 65 SS trim including eyebrows is not likely to be repoped. Although a few of us need them, there realy isn't much money in them for a reproducer. The eyebrows are rare but I can't believe someone paid $600! Darn it, I just sold a good one with the mounting clips to a fella in England for $100. If you have a 65 SS, the peak trip and wheel well moldings are even worse if you can find one at all. It's the nature of the beast that rare parts are expensive and it is hard to blame a guy who has a good part for getting what he can for it. There are a lot of people in the car collection and restoration business who have money and when money becomes no object, prices go crazy! What they were paying for cars at Barrett-Jackson was insane! $1,000,000 for a 1970 LS6 Chevelle? I think we all have cars that will appreciate in value. Novas are still somewhat under the wire on value in the collector market compared to other stuff. We will get our day!

And my apologies to everyone. I did not mean to direct my tirade at the group here. Rare parts "are" Rare parts and will command high prices.

I recently met a "Nova Guy" in Nor-Cal here who had a warehouse of good used First gen parts. His prices were fair and he really wanted to thin out his inventory. That being true I still could not take anything I really did not need in fear that somebody who really would need it could not find it. This guy was so nice, I couldn't think of just taking something and selling it to someone else at a higher price. I don't work that way.

But hey, I too have had some parts in the garage that were laying around for many years and I recently sold them for more than I paid for them 10 years ago. I am human and I do understand a "commodity".

So again, my apologies to all of the good people on this site, many who have helped me with parts, knowledge and encouragement.

i have, what i believe to be, a Very rare intake manifold... a while back (a year or so ago) i attempted to get info on what it's worth... the "Oh it's junk" and "Oh they're a dime a dozen" guys came out of the wood works...

i smelled sumpin' fishy and stuck it away...

now i find it IS a rare intake and think it's worth big big bucks... i TRIED ta be a decent guy, i went to a different forum and posted an ad for the intake...

after all the BS, ferget it. i'll either keep it for a doorstop, melt it down and laugh... or stick it on E-Bay and watch the guys CRY !!! if the guys i delt with were Honest, i'd have helped 'em... but they all wanted ta get in my shorts. so NOW it's still my part, i'm free to enjoy them scampering over each other to get it... if i want to post it... in the meantime, i just keep deleting their E-Mails...

they had their chance...

it's nice ta think NPHNP... but it's NOT always right... you weigh that out and do what you want to do... we all need $$$ for our projects, and if "this" part brings you a small fortune... then that's good for you.

my 2 pennies ;)

Plenty of opinions on this topic:cool: As far as lots of hate on this site, one thing we don't here is launch personal attacks. The mods see to that. I've seen that happen on way too many forums. We'll all weigh in with comments and maybe a feather or two gets ruffled but what the heck, everyone needs an opinion. Ebay happens to be a last resort for me, but I'm certainly not above it. I've purchased quite a few items there, some stuff I thought I did good on, some I didn't. I suppose the word "gouging" is all relative. What one guy thinks is a huge rip- off, someone else sees as a killer deal. I've just had good luck here finding some parts I need, and also selling an item or two, so I'll help a guy when I can.
It's just getting harder to find the deals I guess, especially on the ever elusive 65 parts. 'Course the alternative is to stick a 64 front end on a 65 and be done. It's much cheaper:D

I didn't mean the whole forum, just this topic. I have been reading on here about a month before signing up as I am looking to buy a Nova (66 or 67 probably). I'd have a hard time not taking comments like above personal.

Gearheads are the best people in the world IMO. Always there for help, opinions or advice. My dad always got on to me about spending money on my hotrods but i told him "better than booze and dope". I was always too broke because of my chevelle to go out and get into trouble when I was younger. :D

An additional "warning", if you want to call it that, but if this doesn't "go by", this entire thread will go bye-bye.

We're all civilized folks, right? Can we remain that way discussing this particular topic?

Well, I normally don't chime in with these sort of things.......... but...... It's called supply & demand. Parts go to the highest bidder. Some of the parts I got for my project were a tad on the spendy side (3 heater delete plates!!.. an NOS Tach..) etc. But again, that's why they call it an auction. Fuzzy did not start out with a ludicrous reserve, but he got what someone was willing to cough up!! That's just the way it is! :) Now he's got some money for more parts.
I do know, personally, that George is a great guy (GLUCAS). But c'mon George, if you were to get ahold of these at a reasonable price, do your magic and make em real purdy.............. wouldn't you want the most you could get for those if you put them on e-bay??? Having said that, I do know George is a very reasonable guy to deal with. I'm just putting out a "what if" kinda thing. I don't think anyone is intensionally bashing any one person in particular......... except that guy in Californiay..... "Fly-Boy" or sumpin' like that!! :D :D
Let's all play nice in our great sandbox we've got here!!! Mine were absolutely perfect, like NOS when I sold the car!!
