I am sure more people will chime in besides me, but I have been to most all of them. They have a Nova/Camaro/Chevelle meet in the spring that has some good stuff. The fall season has Shades of the past (pre '49) which is mostly street rod stuff, the next weekend after is the Grand which is more prostreet/modified/muscle era. Both are good, law has gotten really strict in last 4 or 5 years. Best place to stay? Where you can find a room, almost all motels now get you for min. 2 night stay, some 3 night stay and are at least $100 and up. KOA campground has some nice cabins that USED to be cheaper, we always camp there and it is about $50 for camping per night. Some one can correct me but I think they also have a spring Grand run.

Lots of big HP cars show up but many park them on the curb for the week to keep from being hassled. We even got threatened with a ticket for having a cup of beer sitting on the sidewalk, so we just backed our chairs up on the motel parking lot and it became private property.

I frequent the G-Burg / P Forge area about twice a year. Usually at my time share and most recently (Jan 06) I stayed here...

This Hampton Inn is very nice, a few miles off the "tourist" path and less expensive than most. It is also only a mile from Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car Museum. It's a MUST SEE event Bro! Trust me.

There's a pretty decent "Cars of the Stars" Museum in G-Burg.

And one other museum in P Forge that I haven't been too right on the main drag near the Dolly Pardon Blvd entrance end of the strip.

WARNING. With any big car show in town, the traffic will be murder.

Enjoy Jeff!

I went to the Camaro/Chevelle/Nova show last year. Link is below:

It was a pretty good show. Not too big. Some really nice Novas around. I plan on going back this year. Would like to make the big Grand Run this year too. Traffic is murder though. Best thing to do is get a room on the strip and just set out in your lawn chairs and enjoy.

I go to the fall Grand Run every September. It is the week after Shades of the Past and it is mostly cars from 50's and newer. It is a fun time! Lots of cars to see and most are for sale. We have stayed at The Grand last year. Most of the places are over $100 a night and will get you with a minimum stay. Also, if you take more than one car up there, make sure your hotel will provide you with the passes you need. Free parking is hard to find!

My favorite is the Grand Rod Runs April and September. The Camaro/Chevelle/Nova shows are good ones too.
