It replaces the clock in an OEM (non-tach) speedo housing. Pretty slick!

They're made by ShiftWorks (www.shiftworks.com). Scott did a write-up on them on his NovaResource Rants & Raves a while back.

I recently bought one for my 74 but I haven't got it completely installed yet. We had some fairly warm weather the weekend before last so I pulled the instrument panel out and put the tach in ... fits & looks great! I took the old Sun tach off the steering column and noticed that it had left some marks in the paint. So that led to me pulling the column out and re-painting it. The weather has since turned off rather cold and my storage garage is unheated so I'm waiting for some warmer weather to put the column & instrument panel back in.

They even offer a new speedo with the tach in the correct location!! Very pricey though.

But none of your "search" refs entertain the digital dash display unit that I brought up. :p

(nor do we 3rd Genr's necessarily look at applicable posts outside of our own Gen section from six months ago) ;)
