I need to remove the fake louvers on the fenders. Do I need to take the fenders off to accomplish this? it feels like its being held on by those speed nut things.

you need to take the fender off as far as i know.
after painting my car i forgot about them and had to take my fenders off again to put my new louvers and nova script on.

I believe you can get at least the scripts on/off without removing fenders, I think I did it years back.

No you do not have to take the fenders off to do this...they are held in place by some sort of spring nut/clip and all you you have to do is GENTLY pry at them (with a small flat head pocket type screwdriver or one slightly larger than that) they will come out...you just need to move around the edge of the script/louver so that it comes out reasonably level so none of the posts will get damaged...I hope I explained that well.....that is how mine come off and I have had them off about 3-4 times over the years...good luck:)

My louvers were held in place with nuts. Be sure and check this before doing any prying.
