Whew! You guys have some nice cars and do some really nice work. In fact, it's kinda humblin' to be in this crowd. Specifically, Shane65 still holds the tittle of building the nicest Nova I have ever seen. And kix64's six cylinder made me :D . My set-up might pale in comparison but here it is.

Which Novas had the spacer in front of the Radiator ?

I have been asked that question before, and I am still not sure. I know that the '64 was the first year for the V8, and all of them didn't come with the fan shroud. So, maybe they were still playing around with where everything should be placed, as far as distance.

Help me out guys, were they still using the spacers on the '66 and '57's? Did they use them on the '62, '63 or '64's with sixes?

Greg McMillan

I am not an expert on this but I believe the radiator spacer was only for the V-8s using the standard radiator. They were not used at all on 6 cyl's because the motor is so long. There may have been a different spacer for the 4 cyls but I have never seen a correct one to know for sure. I also think that if you had the heavy duty radiator there was no spacer. If you look at the L-79 cars they don't have the spacer but many of the 283 2bbl cars do. I know the 65 with a 283 had a spacer with the standard duty radiator. Have that in the garage. I believe this was basically true though 67. Love to hear other thoughts on the subject.

This is an often asked question. There is a lot of info on 'often asked' questions at the beginning of sections(called Stickys). The section to look for is the "Site News". This will give you the info you're looking for. Read all the stickys and you'll be smarter then us.
