battery cables, positive "black"

I've noticed in reading material that some cables, the positive 'red' cable used to be 'black"? I started driving in 1968, and I don't even remember it being black. If so, what year did it go 'red' for the nova? thanks

both the cables on my 62 are black.

I don't think that any classic Nova ever had a red battery cable from the factory.

I think you're right Don. I can only recall black except for after market / generic red cables.

I'm no expert onthe early dueces but my 72', which i've owned since that time, has a RED cable on the positve. But, it should be noted that it's a side mount.
