AG 72 red 19th-December-2005, 04:33 PM :D very nice everyone kenfb1 19th-December-2005, 06:22 PM americangraffiti, Hi, 13 and 3/4 in from ground to lip. Those are 14 in. rallys with 205/70/14 tires on front, 15in. 255/60 on rear. I also have 15 in. Weld Prostars with 205/70/15 tires up front Look for "my '68 pics" in the 3rd gen group to see pics of the Welds. Don't think there is much of a difference but haven't measured the Weld wheel height. Ken http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c277/kenfb1/666.jpg Here's the pic. americangraffiti 19th-December-2005, 07:25 PM Ken I've got a 24" measure from ground to bottom of lip front fender.......maybe we're not comparing same areas. Do you happen to know what front springs you're running? I've got to replace mine.....they're the originals and I have a definate creaking going on since my 427 was installed. Any feedback appreciated (from anyone:eek: ).........I've got to order springs this week so I can get them in over the holidays (time factor). At this point I am leaning towards the stock 6312 big block/350 AC spring. It seems this spring has the same height as the small block spring.....just has more stiffness to it. Again........looking for information to help guide me in my spring purchase. Happy holidays to all........... AG http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a18/thom71/exterior1.jpg kenfb1 19th-December-2005, 07:59 PM Hi, I measured that from ground to bottom lip near bumper. That's the difference. You're talking to lip above the top of tire, right?? Not sure on springs, I didn't install but I think they are new stock 350 small block springs. I always think the fronts are too high on the stock springs especially when we put a lot of aluminum in the motor area. If we all had the stock motors the fronts would be lower. Just think how much cast iron manifolds and exhaust manifolds weigh?? With light headers and alum. intakes it's no wonder they look high in front. Lot of people cut one coil off and I think that looks good on many cars. I am planning to put an extra leaf or two in the rear to raise it about 1 to 1 and 1/2 inches so the tires can clear better. My 255/60's barely get inside and rub once in a while over bad bumps. Going out to get your measurement again: Ok it's : Ground to lip above center of tire is 26 and 1/2 in. Also did ground to center of headlight-25 and 1/2 in Hope this helps. My 69 is still altitudely challenged. Doug Doug I ended up using a stock TRW small block w/ac spring.......supposed to be the same as a big block. Results were exactly what I was looking for. AG Doug Timme 31st-December-2005, 08:00 PM Hmmmm, my car had a big block in it when I bought it. I put a small block in it. It sat too high. So, I put stock small block w/o Air springs. Still sits way too high. Aluminum heads, and intake. Headers instead of manifolds, battery in the trunk. I am like 3-4 inches from where I want to be. It sits like the engine is out of the car. Thanks alot Greg_R_63,I'm really satisfied with the Salt Flats.Since those pics were taken I have put the American Racing flat center caps(christmas present from my wife) on the car and it really made a big differnce to me.They are not quite as expensive as the knockoffs. Novakid87 12th-February-2006, 12:45 AM Heck , what's wrong with it. Looks good to me in that pic.:) No motor, tranny or interior lol :) p0stal 15th-February-2006, 01:08 AM New here to the forums, can't believe I haven't seen this site before! Here are some pics of my '74 Nova shortly after I bought it: http://home.comcast.net/~xvxdebrutsidxvx/nova.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~xvxdebrutsidxvx/nova2.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~xvxdebrutsidxvx/nova4.jpg I had just finished removing the remnants of the vinyl roof, and primering it flat black. I plan on getting it painted all black eventually:) . I have a cowl induction hood sitting in my basement shop, waiting to be painted. I also have Comp Cams Pro Mag 1.6:1 full roller rocker arms waiting to be installed. I plan on buying a Demon Road/Speed Demon carb, and setting it on an Edelbrock intake. Eventually I think I am going to put in a new cam, but for now I need to finish my exhaust. Right now it is just headers off the block, and that's it ;) . batman09 15th-February-2006, 01:15 AM Nice car!!!Lotsa members in Oregon p0stal 15th-February-2006, 02:11 AM Hey thanks for the compliment!
