If everything goes as planned, I should have a killer motor in the 74 Pro Street by then! :D

I'll be there with a beat up 67 4dr. There is a reason I call it FrankenNova. It has parts from at least 6 other cars. At least it runs strong.

I put about 20 miles on my rough ridin, squeaking, rattling, lump of a car just before it snowed, so maybe just maybe I can make to the gathering

I keep trying to make it there, but have failed for several years in a row. Maybe 2006 will be the one? I sure hope so! It just keeps getting bigger and bigger...

Assuming you lose 20% through your drivetrain, that should put you at about 635hp, I know he hit 500 last year, but don't know what he did this year. Should give him a run for his money, I know he had a 540 slipped under that 427 top end, but don't tell anyone I told you ;)
ps
I WILL NEED another ride in it when you get a new motor, either that 540 or another

I think I'll beat him by over 100 hp with the motor I hope to put in. You can surely have a ride again but I got a lot of mods to do now. I spoke to the guy with the race S-10 and went through the list of parts I'm gonna have to buy to go with the motor.
New Hood??
New Tranny (either powerglide or Turbo 400, 700R will never stand up to that kind of power)
Tranny shield
Flywheel shield
New fuel system
Additional roll cage
Window net
New shifter
New radiator
New drive shaft
Have to get car certified
Have to get a heath card to run that fast
We're guessing the car will run low 6's at the 1/8 or 9's at the 1/4.

Jamie,
What exactly is a Cop motor? I guess I can find the rest of those items. I supposed a black and white paint job too? I think Ron the tech guy at the track would get a kick out of a shotgun mounted in the car! He knows what I do! One of these days I'm gonna take the Sheriff plates of the squad and put them on the car at the track to see if anybody notices.

I'm thinking about going to this event if I still have my Nova. Can anyone give me some suggestions on where to get a good hotel room? I'd like to be close to the fair grounds if that's possible.

MarkM68 the closest Motel I know of is the Super 8 in Roseville. I've stayed there for the last 4 shows and have no complaints. Just make sure to get reservations in early because it fills up fast. If anyone knows of a closer one let us know. Hope to see everyone there.

I hope to be out there. If not in the Nova, then on foot.
Actually there is a Holiday Inn about 1.5 miles away. We used to stay there for Back to The 50's, but then they decided to make it a 3 night stay only, that certain week. It's a nice hotel, and I highly suggest it.

There are lots of good hotel choices along interstate 694. You can come south on Snelling from 694 to the fair grounds. Then friday night go east to North St. Paul show. Saturday night go north to the Anoka show. Both run all summer long. Earl

I will be there again this year, and hopefully I will be able to afford a hood this year-the "save a nova fund" is a little low right now. I would like to see a little more wisconsin cars there though....

Thanks, but this year it will be even better. I will be tearing the whole car apart and hanging it on my rotisserie and redoing everything, and want to have it done by power tour. Maybe this year I will have a hood on it!

I was goin back to the motel saturday night of the show, stopped at a stop sign, looked around REAL good, didn't see any cops, and I let my car scream like no 2morrow.When I let off, there were lights behind me! I couldn't believe it. The cop reamed me a new one, really bad, but to my shock, didn't even use his pen. I was really lucky that time!

Well I've decided to stay here in the big sand box till Nov so I won't make it to the big show this year. There is always next year!!! It will however allow me to finance the completion of my Nova. There won't be anything left to do after this time in the shop. I plan to take her out on one cruise night in Anoka while I am on vacation at home in June...probably the 16th. dreammy and I hope to see some of you there!

So far I'm counting 13 possibles, how do we get a spot together? Maybe a cell phone list ? Figuring 11' per car thats roughly 150' of curb we'd be using, from what I remember about these things, that could be a problem, or not?

if we entered at the same time, i dont think it would be an issue at all. we would all be hearded to the same spot. if nothing else we could put "steves nova site" signs on our dashes with our user ID's on them.
