Well, winter is here and time to get dirty. I have begun to take the undercoating off of the car. If you have ever done this.....God Bless you! It's tough. As I started I was thinking to myself. I wonder what I'm going to find. When I bought the car, the original owner said that nothing had been done restoration wise. OK, but this guy is selling right? So I began to scrape off that black goo. I've found heating it up with a heat gun is a pretty easy way to go. Heat, scrape, clean. After you scrape it and while everything is still pretty warm, spray with mineral spirits and wipe off the residue.
Despite my initial doubt, I was pleasantly surprised at what I found. Here are a couple of pictures.

Here is the rear wheel house area cleaned up. Not too bad for a car that's 44 years old.
