I'm installing my new ididit column when i notice that i does not go through the firewall in the correct location, it's exiting through the middle of the opening and not the lower half like the stocker. It's been a while since the old column come out and i can't remember if there were some sort of spacer or anything else that would change the lower exit location. I guess i could shim it with washers but i want to do it correctly. What i currently have is the under dash mount with 3 bolts with the oblong holes and the 4 bolts that go into the column, something i'm missing?

there are wedge like spacers that go between the mount and the mounting bracket.

Here's a pic of the upper mount with the wedges installed. You can see how these wedges would have a dramatic effect on where the end of the column ends up a the firewall.
