Hi guys,

I just scored a 1963 Chevy II... lots of work to do cosmetically.... motor runs, car drives without issues... no brakes, brake lights work tho! haha

Anyway, I drove it around the farm where I found it, and all was good and fine, but when I went to park it, I wasnt able to get it all the way to PARK. Reverse and D & L go smooth, but when I try to pull the lever/shifter towards me to move it to PARK, it just wont go. Not sure if it is something under the hood, or in the column.

Has anyone heard or had a similar experience?

Also, I havent found the specs on the wheel lug configuration.. are they 4x100, 4x108?

Thank you all!

Most likely a linkage issue on the trans under the car...... A column problem is possible., but doubtfull., as there is not much to really "bind" inside it.....

Was checking out how the column moved all the way at the end under the hood, and saw how it moved from Low to Reverse, but when trying to put in in Park, that little "tab" on the moving part, would not come over the other tab on the static part.. Sorry I dont know the names of those components...

I just hope it has an easy solution!

Thank you for the reply!

Make sure there is no slop in the linkage. The rod could have too much play down by the tranny causing it to not move the linkage on the tranny all the way to park.
