how wide of a wheel and what size tire?

imho anything less than a 10" wheel with say a 275 or larger tire just wont look right. This will require you to minitub.

Just my opinion but PLEASE DONT put 20's on anything besides a monster truck.

Look at the brite side, with 20's maybe you could run over the front of a small car, sorry couldnt help it.

Ya, heaven forbid I still like a little bit of tire in the wheelwell.

The new skids look like a thick rubber band wound around the rim.

I must really be old, I still like raised white letters!!!!!!!

Come to think of it, I dont really like the pro touring look. Rear tires should be wide and DEEP, and fronts should be skinnies. Rear should sit higher than the front and shackles are ok if chromed! oops, went a little far.

i cant stand that rubber band look, alot of kids by me got them. and white letters will never go out of style

i liked pro touring at first but now to me its just another pro street. cant stand it at all anymore. im really into just the classic street machine look now.

i really hope the gasser look dosent become another pro touring/pro street, cause thats just badass.

and you came to your senses! :D

I have had lots and lots of people tell me they love the look of my nova. Theres is lots of interest in the new resto-mod look. I personaly like both old school and pro touring look, I just like the pro touring look better..much better handling too.

Nice car! IMPO I think the 20's are a hair big but that's just my opinion.

How do you like the Watt's? Doesn't AirRide make a solution for that? I think it's their G-Bar. Any reason you didn't go with that?

One thing to consider is the stance, 20's dont look good on a car that looks like a 4wd. if you can get the fender to cover the rim in the rear It will look killer, but in all honesty good luck with that...Takes some fancy backspacing and ride height, most 20's take super tall tire's, even in a 35's series. Im talking about 3rd gen's..

I've got 18's on my car, I think I could have pulled off a 19's in the rear but then the side wall wouldnt match the front...

Love or hate the pro-touring look, how could you find anything wrong with this? You nailed it. The problem with most guys running big wheels is they dont do enough research on back-spacing, section width, etc... They end up putting the wrong wheel on a car that sits too high and it looks ridiculous. If you take your time and gather enough information, the big wheel / tire combo can be pulled off tastefully. This particular car is a perfect example!!!!!!!
The pro-touring look is getting a bad rep. from guys that dont know what they are doing. That being said, 20's are about as far as i would take it in my humble opinion.

Pro-touring look is dead..lol That's Freiberger trying to start something thats not. Prostreet died off for a reason..These cars are just more modern and handle better then they ever have. I can see the name dieing off, but the cars wont.

I was sure 20's would look great. So I set off mocking them up out of cardboard, cutouts of the wheels I was running 15 13.50's MT tires before so all I had to do was stay under the total diameter which was 31" tall.

I love the Fays 2 watts link, it is really tight and holds the rear right in place. As for Air Ride, I couldn't use the lower track locator because the drive shaft would hit. And the pan hard bar could not be welded to my cast Dana 60 pumpkin. That is when I met Mark at SCC and the rest is history.

Are you talking about Marcus from Savitske? That guy is a genius when it comes to suspension geometry and kinematics!!!

So your running a 4 bar with a watts? Glad to hear you like it!!

What suspension are you running in front? Did you build her to turn or go straight?

Opps.. Yes Savitske. Built her to turn.I am running a Modified (Cut just to fit the shockwaves in there) Hiedts front clip. They make a whole bolt on clip now from Heidts to accept the new shockwaves now. Air Ride LCA w/dropped spindles Wilwood 4 piston calipers. John, I just checked out you ride again, that thing is going to be tight! Any new progress? I cannot stop reading about your car I think I am becoming addicted to this build (on both sites)http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn13/tnt342/65%20nova/100_0277.jpghttp://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn13/tnt342/65%20nova/heidts018.jpghttp://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn13/tnt342/nova008-1.jpg
