I took out my windshield the other day and come to find out when i scaped away all the sealant i found the the top of the frames was rotted. Practically all the frame is pitted but there's about 7 in rotted though the metal. Anyone ever did any repairs like this? It doesnt seem too hard to cut out and bend up some new metal.

If you are handy with a welder and can do body work it is not to hard to fix. The important thing is to replace the metal not just fill in the hole with body filler. The body filler will not be a permenent fix and may cause bigger problems down the road!

Well i cut out the piece that was rotted. Wasnt too bad. Drilled out the spot welds on the bottom of the frame. cut just below the roof line then chain drilled the ends that i wanted to cut out because the cutting wheel as too big and would have cut into the roof. Bent up a piece of 18 GA and made a V block with would to hammer the L angle and match the contur. Doesnt seem to hard now that i made the piece. the tricky thing is now is not to warp the metal on the roof line.
