Hi all:

Does anyone have any detailed steps, or advice, on changing out the ignition switch? My car is a '72, so the switch is at the bottom of the steering column. Do I have to drop the column?

My Haynes manual wasn't all that helpful. I've never changed one of these out and do not want to break anything.

Thanks!

Yes drop the column(2 9/16 nuts) makes it much easier to remove the wring connectors (2)-they have release tabs on top- first plug has two release tabs-second has one-remove the two bolts on the left (5/16 ?) remove switch.Besure to line up the rod that inserts into the back of the new switch.

This is for a jeep but some parts identical to the Nova. I took my original steering column apart and put back together but it didn't turn out so great lol
