I usually don't post stuff about myself, but I was pumped that I got into the 11.40's yesterday at ATCO. Here is a video of the run.:)

What kind of info can you share about your car? Tires, motor, etc. The video was pretty neat.

That is a nice Nova! I'll bet your motor will end up running in the 10's with some more tuning.:)

nice! what size carb and intake and cam? what tire and gear?

The carb is around a 950. I had it done a Nickerson Performance in Bristol, PA. The intake is a Motown. The tires are 27/10.5/15 Hoosier QTP. The rear gear is 3.89. The converter is a BTE 9.5" 4500 stall. The cam is a Comp Cams hyd roller. .562 int .580 ex. dur @.050 248 int. and .254 ex. ground on a 110 lobe separation.

I need some help tuning the chassis! I have been trying to get my chassis tuned right and I am getting closer, but it still is not right. When I launch, the front comes up, off of the ground slightly and the rear tires are pinned to the track. But, the front end then comes down quickly and I get tire spin. I have the caltracs set on the lower hole with about 1/4 turn of preload. The Ranchos are both on 6. I run 15 lbs. of tire pressure and leave at about 3,000 RPM.

you might look at a set of floaters. and tuning in how much front end travel you really need.

What are floaters? I have never heard of that term? Also, can anyone explain a good way to limit front end travel on a stock clip?

First, congratulations on the new best...that's a great feeling and a good reward for your hard work. We've been very fortunate this year to setting new ones each race until a rod kicked out and took the block with it, but a new one is on the way and we'll be back in a few weeks.

On the setup, it sounds as though your front shocks/struts are not loose enough. If you have adjustables, try them full loose...that should help with the front end coming down quickly and unloading the rear tires.

After thinking about this more today, I think maybe I just need to heat the tires up more? Although I thought my burnouts have been ok, but maybe not. The front end comes up good and sends the weight to the back quick. The problem seems to be that the front comes down really quick too and when that happens I get tire spin. So it intially squats and plans well and then it seems to unload and that is when I get the tire spin.

Read my post previous to yours...I made suggestions on how to fix that

You could also be running out of suspension movement in the rear or binding up. We had that problem with a ladder bar setup and it was the rear shock settings.
