Master cylinder/dist. block

I'm looking into going with a Wilwood master cylinder and connecting it to a SSBC distribution block. This is going to be on a 72 with manual front disks and rear drums, what do you guys think about this combo? The dist. block has the adjustment for the rear brakes but will it work with the wilwood master cylinder?

This should be a good thread. I would also like to know if it will bolt to the power booster.

I have a power booster on the car right now but i'm not crazy about the pedal feel and i liked the feeling of the pedal when it was manual drums (just not the braking) so i'm swapping back to manual which is why i need a master cylinder.

I would imagine that as long as a master cylinder is pumping into a distribution block that its going to do the job of readjusting the pressure going to the front and rear brakes right?

this has been covered countless times.... a simple search will yield many positive results... ..

but.. a 1970 NOVA manual disk mc and combination valve is the ticket.... the disk/drum combination valve is available from many sources..... the M/C is as close as your local autoparts store.. unless your wanting to pretty up the MC then there are many available.. just be sure to get one with a 1" bore to 7/8" bore....

thanks veno, it was fairly late when i posted this originally and didn't even think about doing a search.

I guess i'm going to go with a Wilwood m/c with the 7/8" bore to increase the pedal feel. Then i will just plumb it to an ssbc distribution block with the brake light switch and the adjustable rear proportioning valve. Once i can afford to do this swap i will post it up and let everyone see how it turns out.

The 7/8 bore should be just right for a manual disc set-up. On my 4 wheel disc Cougar I started with a 1.06 bore and pedal feel is good but too much pedal effort is required. I need to swap out with the 7/8 unit.:o
