i am looking for someone that is in the know about what was available in 1973 as far as radio options. i have been looking for an am/fm stock radio for mine with out much succsess. i have seen some am only units. also, the rear deck of my car does not have the precut holes in the metal work for rear speakers. was it even an option??
it does have the speaker in the front dash.
any info would be appreciated.

Cut a hole in the bezel to fit a single DIN radio.

Cut holes in the rear package tray metal for speakers.

Done deal. Sounds great, and much cheaper than working with stock stuff. :D

It takes a man to modify a classic. :D

have you checked out Custom Autosound? They make a decent looking reproduction that has all the features of a new radio and should fit in the stock location, I have one in my '70, don't know if '73 is different though.
