Does anyone repop them, or even a Pontiac hood tach?

Yes, I got one for my Yenko project from '' RESTORATION WORLD" a Chevy parts supplier in Dayton,Ohio. It was a Pontiac style. Had pontiac on the dial face. Thought i could take it apart and remove the pontiac script. Not so. I returned it and went with a Stewart Warner green line pedistal tach. I think Classic Industries sells them too.

Thanks, I like the look of them and it makes for an easy choice of where to put the Tach!:yes:

I was once at a VW meet, and a guy had a Yenko Nova hood tach on his Baja Bug. I called him on it ("Hey, is that a Yenko hood tach?") and he said I was the first person to know right off what it was. Just a tidbit.:D

Yenko deuce novas used a Dixco hood tach. The pontiac, and Buicks are different in size, and the way they mount. Chances of finding a real Yenko tach are very slim, and if you do, it most likely doesn't work anymore, and will be very expensive.

Anyone know the wiring code for a dixco hood tach. Green, red and black wires. Which goes where?:eek::turn:

JC Whitney also sold those tachometers a long long time ago. When someone finds something that looks cool and sells, everyone wants to sell it... :cool:

Tommy :)

Tommy is correct. They were the same size, but had a different face that was multi colored.

Black = Neg

Red = Pos

Green = Coil

I like the placement more then anything, so originality isn't a concern, but thank you for the insight.:yes:

Yeah. I wish they sold some of this stuff now. I've got a late '60s SW 970 tach and I've been looking for the monitor to go with it for a while.
