I know headers have probably been beat to death on here...

However, has anyone ever compared Jegs and Summit cheapie headers side by side? I hear Summit headers fit well...but I had a pair of Jegs cheap headers and they hung a little low for my liking...

Very... Mine have been bottomed out quite a few times. IMO, cheap is nice but hopefully the higher dollar headers would not hang so low. I imagine Summit headers are the same. They are probably used for a few applications.

for my budget 383 build i used summit 1 5/8 ceramic coated headers for ~$158. i am quite impressed that they dont sit low.
not a bad deal.
rumors circulated in the past that these were actually hedman or hooker, but i cant confirm this.
i have no regrets with these headers.

Is there a way you can see the spacing between the collector and the body? My Jegs headers' flange are like 2 or 3" apart from the body:bored:

I have summit cheapie ones, I've never really thought they sat too low. Then again my car doesn't really have a ground clearance problem...They've been on my car for a few months now and the paint is already flaking off the bottom. They fit well and don't leak though.

i didnt sweat brand loyalty on this budget build too much, so less than ~$160 for ceramic coated headers was a good buy in my book.
