Well as most of you know I did't have a date coded L78 motor in my 68 L78 nova. When I restored the car I just put together a 68 396 until I found the correct date coded parts.
That was in 2006 and it took me three years to come up with all the part's. I have spent the past month or so doing the engine swap. It is still standard bore with all the correct internals. (except the cam) I fired it up today and does she sound mean! I am looking forward to the spring to take it for a ride. Just a couple more things to take car of then I am back onto the 67 chevelle. The motor that was in the nova is going into the chevelle.

I still have to install the correct 2 groove water pump pulley. That should be here next week. I also ordered a new fan shroud because I found a bunch of spider crack's in mine. I don't want that thing comin apart at 6K!!!!!

Well I tried to record the car tonight on my digital camera. I think it sounds better in person. It has a nice lump to it. The ticking is my fan shroud hitting the fan blade. It has a crack in it and I will be replacing it. I also have 14 foot ceilings and I am getting an echo. Let me know if the link works.

I spoke to jason tonite...that new motor made so much noise the neighbors complained and the cops showed up. I think they impounded the car for violating the local noise ordinance...hopefully he will get it back by spring.
