I put the Nova on CL... I have kinda had it with the thing, I found out it need whole quarters, not just patches as well as a lot of other stuff. I would need to spend $10k+ to make it nice.

Well of course I am dumb. I need help with offers. I have no idea what to do!:D

So far the offers are:

76 chevy pickup. I would need to give him cash, which I do not have.

$2500...

and

"what is the low end of what you would take?"

Whatcha think?

Stick to your guns and get what you want for it... Don't make a deal unless it's exactly what YOU want. Only you know what it was to you...Put the ****$ in your pocket.. Not his.

I've used Craigslist in the past. It can be a great resource, but it has more than its share of scammers.

1. Be very wary of any deal where you have to pay the other party. Craigslist is well known for having problems where you pay and get nothing.

2. If you're trying to just sell the car, say so. "No trades" is easily understood. You're not a dealer and probably don't have a lot of trading experience. If I were you, I'd be very reluctant to take a trade on your vehicle.

3. In your mind, establish a 'bottom line' that you're willing to accept and stick to it. People will 'work' you incessantly to see if they can drive down the price to a really bargain level. If they badger you, just say something like: "I'll be glad to consider any offer, as long as you show me the cash first." That will take care of 95% of the tire kickers.

4. Remember, you can always go down in price, but going up is tough! If you're asking, say, $3,500 and someone who appears to be a good prospect says "What will you take?" be ready with an answer like: "If there's no trade involved, I'll take $3,200". Stick to your guns! Make sure that you tell everyone the same amount, because some buyers will have their buddies call and ask you the same questions they asked.

5. The really great thing about sites like Craigslist is that, if the car doesn't sell in the time you think it should, you can re-advertise it at a 'reduced' price next week!

20 million?:rolleyes::D

I have no idea what it is worth to me. I am still mad at the damn thing. Someone wants to see it sometime, so we'll see how it goes.

Wow! Please don't sell it for cheap because you're mad at it!!!!!

Do some research... check eBay and see what similar cars are selling for. Look at the classified ads in several newspapers (especially larger cities where there's a wider selection that's likely to include specialty cars like yours). These are usually available for free on-line.

Going into something like this 'blind' will almost always result in an outcome that you'll regret.

No, I am not just selling it for one reason.:) There are a lot of reasons, including my income, reliability, fuel economy, and the fact that I already have a wrecked Nova at home. There are still many Novas out there, even better ones than this one. When I am ready I figure I can buy one later. Hopefully. If not I made a bad choice now, but will need to live with it. I guess I am trying to say it needs to go since so far it is my ONLY source of transport, so I need something more economical and reliable.:)

I figure my bottom bottom line is in the mid $2000s...

Throw some pics up on here as well as any descriptions that you think we should know. I bet you can get some advice on what you can get for it. There will be two prices though, one price will be what it will take to sell it fairly soon, the other will be the price you could get if the right buyer is out there.

Well there is only one price... I am in no hurry to sell.:) Here is the link any potential buyers are using. Oh, the antenna just happened to pop out, but I could probably fix it.:) Actually $2500 looks like a really good price right about now:D

Edit: $3000 is the best offer now...

I can do that tomorrow after yanking some headliner clips out of a 71 in the junkyard.:D Then I will do a heavy seat cleaning with Goop(hand cleaner). After that I can go let the car cool down at the car wash and blast the motor bay.:)
