Keeping the 68 in the family

I posted this over in the 68 only thread but I am so excited about getting this car I wanted to tell you a little more about it. It started out as a plain Jane inline six, three on the tree, radio delete and no carpet. It was originally purchased by little old lady at the Chevrolet dealer in Searcy Arkansas about 30 miles from me. I have a copy of the original title and it only has her name on it. She put about 10,000 miles on it before she passed away and left it to some of her family. They put approximately another 10G on it before it found its way to a car collector here in Arkansas. This guy basically stored the car until he mad the mistake of bringing it out one day and my Dad (onecarnut) laid eyes on it. After several months of negotiations Dad finally got his hands on this 22,000 original mile 1968 Chevy II. We started off by repainting the car back to its original two tone colors, freshening up all the chrome and having the seats reupholstered. Next came the Vintage air conditioner which is neatly hidden inside the dash. Then we made a call to Scoggin Dickey and ordered up a 350cc 330hp crate motor and matched it up with a turbo 350 transmission modifying the standard column to shift the automatic. Now for the best part. In order to make room for new projects and keep the 68 in the family Dad sold the Chevy II to me last week.

We put it on the car for two reasons. One to cover up the radiator support from the front of the car and two to add a little more cooling. check out http://www.spoilersbyrandy.com/default.aspx
