Looking for help to determine how much modification needs to be done to a factory steering column to use it with a TCI mustang 2 front clip and if the Ididit tilt units are a buy and bolt in or if there are any mods to theirs. Can anyone help?
Thanks

I wanted to keep my factory column with my TCI install. I bought a Heidts steering shaft kit from iBuildm. Its a splined shaft that replaces the original, you can then use borgenson ujoints and a DD shaft to connect to the rack.

I have the same desire utilizing the factory column and a Church Boys R&P steering assembly.
However, I couldn't find a link to "IBuildm".
Tg, any help would be appreciated...
Thanks.

iBuildm is a member here. He owns Tims hotrods.
Below is a link to the kit on Heidts site.

The Ididit is a plug and play deal. If you have a 67 the ididit will bolt right in. For the 62-66 you will have to also purchase a floor mount support as the early novas column was supported by the steering shaft being connected to the steering box. Depending on the year you will also get a wire harness that plugs into the stock wiring and enables you to have 4 way flashers.
If you are crafty enough you can cut the shaft from the steering box and grind 2 flats on the end of the shaft. A 3/4DD joint will then slip into place. With the stock wheel bolted on the Ididit really looks stock.
You can also contact Walt (nova656567) at Classic Nova & Performance
www.classicnova.com He too can provide you with a replacement shaft.
