I have a 66 with manual drum brakes. I recently got a power booster, master cylinder, and proportioning valve off of a 67 with power drum brakes. Some books are saying that these parts are specific to 67's only. I am just wanting something more than manual drum.
What about brake lines, wheel cylinders, etc...what interchanges? I need the entire brake system. Don't know if the drums and pieces inside are any good yet.
This is new to me and just bought my first project. I know down the road I want to switch over to at least front disc but I am wanting to get the thing on the road.
Thanks, any input helps!!!

the brakes themselves are the same. the Booster is the same, the master's are different. 67 was the first year for the dual resavoir, the line sizes are different. One is 3/16" the other is a 1/4". You can keep your current size line, you'll need to plumb a new front line for the second resavoir.

The easiest way to do this is to get the 67 correct front to rear brake line from the Right Stuff they specialize in reproduction plumbing and hardware.

You also may have a slight clearance issue with the shock tower. The 67 had a small dimple in the tower to give the lines a little more room.

What if i got the lines for a 67? Do they have the same routing and bends in them? Which is which...66=1/4" line? It might be tight you say to fit the dual mc in my 66 but will it still work? Should i look for some used lines or is this a bad way to go? Just buy new ones?
Is there any provisions i should be thiking about? after i get this thing on the road, the VERY 1st thing i am going to do is the CPP mini subframe kit.
Thanks again! this stuff slowly coming to me...slowly.

If I remember right, 66 is 1/4" and 67 is 3/16". If you buy the replacments, the bends are the same, and the repros are only offered in one size. I beleive the 3/16".
The master won't be that close to the inner panel, but the front line coming out will be. It should clear though.

Dave,
Thanks a lot for the link. That kind of info really helps me. Especially the pictures that label parts. It helps me understand better. Sorry guys for sounding like such a retard. I think i have some more brakes parts from a 67 available to me. I'm just gonna get 'em all.
Yep Eric, I'm stepping into a whole new world...a good one if I might add!
