Mustang ll springs too stiff

I have a Heidt's crossmember with oem ford mustang ll suspension in my 64 Wagon. I have springs for a 4 cyl no air pinto (275 #) now and it is a little higher than I like, plus I'm removing another 100# from the nose, which will made it worse. I'd ideally like a "springy" spring (drag race app.) like the Moroso trick springs, so I don't want to cut existing springs shorter.Does anyone know any spring (maybe from another app.) that would work?

thanks,

Scott

I have a MII also. I cut the springs, took five minutes. Beveled the ends too. Gave me the lower stance. But prolly increased the rate, is that why you dont want to cut them, you want more compliance right. I think some folks in the drag racing scene used pinto front ends for that reason. Maybe check into that. Dunno if pinto springs are even compatible with the MII CAs. Oh, Im tossing my springs for shockwaves, they are yours to play with if you want. Free, just pay shipping. JR

Pinto and Mustang II are the same suspension, I actually have some parts taken off of a Pinto, and most came from different mustang II's at Pick n Pull junkyard. Thanks for the free spring offer, but I have a few sets around already, and the weakest ones available for this app. still sit too high. and if I cut them they will become stiffer, and I want them weaker than they are now.

Unfortunately, the class I race in does not allow coilovers, so that's not an option either.

Thanks again, Scott

Springs are cheap. Go but new ones the spring rate that you want. Why rig it? Any spring shop can custom make anything you want.

Do you know of someone who can make the springs? I'm in central Il but I go to the Chicago area a lot, and could get springs up your way if you know a good local shop.

Thanks, Scott
