Will CPP stock spindles fit my aftermarket disk rotors??

I'm replacing some aftermarket 2" drop spindles w/ disk brakes on my 66 to stock spindles to potentially fix some problems in my suspension (its a long story). and I was wondering, if I bought a different spindle then the one currently on there, would my disk brake rotors fit on the new spindle (like the stock spindles they have at CPP which they say are disk ready)?

Aren't all rotors prettymuch interchangable on spindles? is there some special spline on knurl? The only differnence I can find between a disk and drum spindles is the upper boss.

Rotors will all interchange, the difference would be the upper boss is taller on a stock drum brake spindle.Do you have 2 piece drop spindles or the one piece? If you have 2 piece and CPP brakes it should all change over.If you have later GM brakes you will need to modify the spindle to fit the caliper bracket.

YEah, from what I've seen the upper boss on the CPP spindals seems to be cut back to allow the disk brakes like you said. But my question is, are spindals proprietal? Are spindals prepped to use a specific rotor?? Basically, I'm worried that if I change my spindals, the disk rotors I have now wont fit, and I will have to buy a whole new brake setup.

The rotors will fit bearing wise.If it has s-10 rotors you may have a diameter issue.Whos spindles and what brakes are we talking about exactly?

I'm trying to find out, the guy working on my front end is pretty pissed off at my car right now, and he doesn't seem to want to crawl underneath it.

Ok, they are superior 2" drop spindals, and Im assuming they are the 10.5" rotors that came with that kit. Now I've heard that there has been some trouble with the cast in steering arm on these perticular spindles. Maybe this is why my car wouldn't go down the road strait?

If they are 10.5 S-10 style brakes the rotor will fit your stock spindle. You will need a CPP caliper bracket and spacer and a set of 5 lug steering arms.Your current calipers should fit the CPP brackets. I have heard of issues with the one piece drop spindles.

Well its not a rumor, apparently the cast in place steering arms were too long on these one piece spindles and it caused massive bumpsteer, as anyone who rode in my car could agree with. This is crazy.

:DHello i had the same problem when i used 2 in drop spindles also i wanted as 2inch with a option to use my factory steering arms but no one had them at the time. Cpp does offer a drop spindle now that allows for the use of factory arms . I spent a lot of time and trial and air before i finally got mine set up the way i wanted .as stated earlier the mini sub frame kit and sway bar make a big difference . I run mini sub factiry gm disc /spindles / and steering arms . I did remove some oil spring to get the look i was after . When i finished set up i found a really great alignment guy and he dialed it in great . If asked however what i would do in future i would save up the money and buy a tci/checkered /or one of the front end subframe kits with brakes/coil overs etc. Thats my thoughts on the deal good luck

Walt at http://www.classicnova.com/ can get you most anything you need. You probably do not want to hear it but the zero offset brake kits CPP sells pull the wheels in about 1/2 each side.

Puts then in a half inch. So now my 17"x8" by 4.5" bs (with 1/8 spacer)wheels won't fit??

The rotors are different on the zero offset kit,you should be able to use you existing rotors and keep the wheels where they are.I would call CPP and explain your current issue and see if they can put some pieces together to solve your problem.Try to speak to Jeff down there he is a Nova guy.

Talked to CPP, went with the basic disk kit. Guess I have to buy new calipers, as to what size I don't know. But they said my rotors will fit. As far as wheels, might have them up for sale here in a month, lol.

there are different size hub seals.
