64 Nova 400 -- What's it Worth??

OK guys, I know this is a tough question to answer...and there is no right or wrong really, but I'm curious what some of your input might be...I'm thinking of buying this 1964 Nova 400...Has a 283 V8 - PS, PB, A/C, AUTO, 4-Door, with known minor rust issues in the rear lower quarter panels (the floors and trunk have some rust, but aren't rusted out - I think they could be cleaned up and POR 15'd, or something like that)...I want a new Nova project to go along with my '69 SS - 4-speed, and really wasn't considering a 4-dr until I ran across this one...I'd like to do most of the body work and a lot of the mechanics but no doubt to re-do the car to what I would want, I'd have considerable money in the project... The guys asking $3K for the car but said he would take $2,500...What do you think of the price and what would I have in value assuming I end up with a nicely restored, mostly original family car? Can anyone share your thoughts? Thanks,

That's not a bad asking price. As for the repair's it's up to U. If U like that kind of thing then go for it. I would not mind one like that for a DD. But I dont have the patience(SP?)for the repair's you are talking about. JMO
