I was wondering if I could get some opinions on what to go with on my 72. right no i have leaf springs with traction bars and air shocks mounted to the outside. I am wanting to put some mini tubs back there for a bigger tire. what i noticed is that even with a bigger tub my tires will hit my leaf springs. i know the have offseting shackles but I can't use them because of my gas tank. I hear people complain about 4 links (great at track but crappy on street) just wondering what would be the best way around this issue?

Two words:
TRUCK ARM
A little more pricey than a standard 4-link, but if you can work around the exhause clearance issues your tire clearance problems should be solved.
Check out Hotrods to Hell, that's where I bought mine, and I'm VERY happy with it.

I think when a lot of guys say that 4 links aren't good on the streets, but good for drag racing they are right, but if you go with a triangulated 4 link, they are good for the streets. I'm putting one into my 68 which will be a street car. I'm building it for the streets. I hope to get to the drags maybe once just to see how the car does. I've got a Air Ride air bar, but with coilovers instead of the air shocks. I've since sent the arms away to be retrofitted so they are adjustable, now making it the prodigy bar. The original air bar was the same as the Alston's g-bar. They have since come out with a newer and better version of the g-bar. It's supposed to be released in the next couple weeks. Here's a link to the new g-bar: http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=17418
Detroit Speed also has their quadra link, but it requires some cutting of the rear seat section. Very good product. Here's a link: http://www.detroitspeed.com/productpages/rear_suspension6874nova.htm
You can also get your mini tubs from them.
Speed Tech Performance also just came out with a new torque arm rear suspension. I haven't heard any reviews yet, but it's a pretty nice unit. Here's a link to it: http://www.speedtech-performance.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=results/category_id=227/home_id=227/mode=cat/cat227.htm
Here's another link with a picture connected to their subframe: http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=17474
Right now Speed Tech has 15% off all their stuff including the rear set up. Give Frank at www.gpsuperstore.com a call for ideas. On the link to the Speed Tech rear set up, his phone number is there. He's a great guy to deal with. I've bought from him several times and will several more. He buys all the different set ups, puts them in his car and then goes and drives the car on a track to see how they handle. When he gives you advice, it's from experience. He's also a dealer for all the above mentioned parts and the prodigy bar, which was designed for his other company Prodigy Customs.
