There are a couple of ways to go with a R&P set up and the CPP kit. The Bill's II and Church Boys setups require a modified lower arm from CPP. Did you buy these arms?
Do a search in this forum and you'll come up with the various approaches to installing a rack and pinion assembly with the CPP kit. Nogo posted his "Official" thread awhile back. That one has lot's of good info too and it MIGHT use the standard CPP lower control arms (I'm not sure).

A friend did the same as you and they took them back and set him new ones. He did have to pay shipping both ways.

The Churchboys rack is the nicest fitting rack currently available for the stock fron end.The only down side is it requires a special CPP lower arm.If you have not installed your lowers you may be able to swap then with the ones you need.If you use stock spindles you can use any brake kit you want just be aware that some kits move the front wheels out about 7/16 each side.It is not a big deal if you are running skinny front tires but if you want to put wide tires on I would suggest one of the zero offset brake to keep the wheels tucked in.CPP makes a 10.75 and a 13 inch zero offset brake kits.I removed a set of Chevelle 11 inch brakes for my car and installed the 10.75 kit and it stops fine. The 13 inch brakes need larger than 15 inch wheels. Now if you decide you want drop spindles you are committed to the CPP front brakes.

I put the CPP arms on mine about two years ago. I used just the lower arm kit, as I thought (and still think) it's the best bang for the buck. I had just replaced my steering gear and it's nice and tight, so I didn't have an urgent need to go messing with a rack and pinion setup. If I ever do have a need, the Church Boys setup appears to be the cleanest looking, although I'm not sure about going to a front steer from a rear steer. For some reason my alignment guy likes the rear steer better. I need to do some readin and decide for myself, I guess.

I am not sure that CPP even offers a rack kit any more. They sold Unisteer kits a while back but they fit so poorly most people returned them.Flaming river makes a rack for stock clips but it will only work with a stock front sump V8 pan.NOGO has a rack kit in development that uses stock CPP arms but it looks to hang down pretty low. Here is a link to NOGO's conversion.
