I have a 65 two door post. Will be running a small block chevy. I will not have fender well headers. I wil be using the CPP/ Church boys set up. I have the stock five lug spindles, but can not decide if I should go with 2" drop spindles.I will probaly be using the zero offset CPP disc break set up. I am thinking of dropped spindles and a two inch lowering blocks.I have the original springs(six cyl.) and a new pair of springs(v8 I think)
I have seen posts where the two inch drop spindles interfere with turning radius and tires rubbing on the fenders:eek:.
What are your thoughts and experiences?
Thanks!

If you plan to really lower your car the drop spindle will give you better results with the geometry of the rack setup when lowered. As for the turning radiius Nova 404 had an issue because the caliper mounting bracket needed to re-positioned to allow for caliper to a-arm clearance, if you send him a PM i'm sure he will give you the details.

Yes the calipers hit the upper arms before the rack gets to full lock. This is with CPP's tubular upper arms. I spoke with Jeff at CPP last week and he said he thinks the revised caliper brackets are finished. He was not sure as most of thier design people were at SEMA. When you order ask for the brackets to lower the caliper.I will be calling them on Monday to follow up on this.:D

You are going with a wheel larger then 15" right?

Undecided at this point. The front clip is not on the car. Just trying to decide what direction to go in with the spindles and ride height of the car.

how far do those offset brake kits push the wheel out?

The CPP zero offset kit keeps the hub surface in the same position. The old style disc brake kit using machined stock spindles with later components are about 5/8", with other kits ranging from 1/4" to almost 3/4".

I will be going with the CPP zero offset discs when it is time. My biggest concern I guess is ground clearance and the tires rubbing on the fenders when making a tight turn. I wil have to have a look at some first gen. pics with the dropped spindles.
As always thanks for the replies!
