I just finished my 9" rear conversion and rear disc upgrade. I can't seem to get the rear calipers to clamp on the rotor though. It is the summit rear disc kit which is made by ssb. I have the old disc drum manual master cylinder and disc drum distribution block. i have an adjustable prop valve but its not installed yet.
Should I change my master cylinder and/or distibution block to disc/disc? I have bled the brakes a few times and can't get any more air out of them. Any suggestions?

Are the bleeder valves on the high side of the caliper?
Probably should get a disk/disk master cylinder as the disk/drum does not exert enough pressure on the rear brakes(lock up).....

Disc brakes require a lot more fluid/pressure. As is very little pressure is sent to the back tires.
I'd recommend the proper distribution block

Does anyone know where I can get a Manual master cylinder for a disc/disc setup? not sure if this was stock on any cars.
The distribution block should be easier to find.

If you are not using a booster you will need a 1" or smaller bore MC with no residual press valves. The drum MC will have a residual press valve and it drags the brakes when you install a disc setup. Also get rid of the factory dist block and if needed install an adjustable prop valve in the rear line.

The Mater cylinder you need
Part Number United Brake (NAPA) New #36367

You can get this at NAPA, or have another parts store cross these number to get what your need.

Would this master cylinder work for 4 wheel power disk? If not, do you have a part number for one?

The rear calipers have a built in e brake and they are not hooked up. Will this cause problems?
