62 manual steering box

How hard is it to rebuild the manual box, and what kind of oil do you use for it?

You can obtain a kit from NNN or Chevy2Only for around $65. You need a special tool for some of the assembly.

I have a 64 steering box that is in great condition I would sell for $75 + shipping.

If your box has alot of play you can adjust somewhat.

I pumped mine full of light grease...every other kind of oil leaked out>>>

I Bought That Kit,my Steering Was Worn Out,lots Of Play,when I Took It Apart The Steering Gear Was Worn Out,i Replaced It With A Corvette Gear,which Was The Same,i Will Be Driving The Car Soon To See How It Works.

Thanks guys, I like the light grease one, Mine leaks a little but seems to be fine otherwise. I think the gaskets and seal are just old.
