After you get down to the white plastic turn signal assembly, I see 3 screws, after taking those out Im assuming it just slides out toward you? Mine isnt budging, is there a trick/tool? Do I need to remove more than just the plastic assembly to get to the wiring harness inside the column? 65 nova

Are you trying to replace or repair only the turn signal harness?

I just did this today to replace the canceling cam on my 63. It does come off. I actually used a slide hammer with a small hook. GENTLY..... tap it out. The grease gets old & sticky & makes it hard to get out with your fingers. Just make sure the screws are out along with the lever. Also loosen the steering column clamp at the lower part of the dash to allow the wires to move freely.

slide hammer...why didnt I think of that. I think the one I have is way too big, might have to pick up a smaller one. Thanks!
