How close together can you put leaf springs

How far inward can you move the leaf springs and still have them operate correctly. Can you move them in 8" to 10" each total 16" to 20"?

They will still work correctly but you will induce a lot more body roll. An anti roll bar or stabilizer of some sort would be a good idea for shure.
