I stumbled into a heck of a good deal Monday and finally bought a good project nova. I've been looking for a few years locally with no luck. This car was done up probably 20+ years ago and has a 6-71 blown 350 that was supposedly built well and dyno'd at 590HP. Turbo 400, 12-bolt with 4.10 gears. There's lots of old school touches like chromed hood hinges, motor mounts, hood latch, etc.. Candy apple red with a gold base. The interior is in fairly good shape but has non nova seats and a camaro counsole. Glass and trim all good, bumpers were NOS. Dual electric fuel pumps, chrome bolt on ladder bars, chrome headers, chrome oil pan, trans pan. Old school 5 slot mags with new BFG radials. Here's a few pics, let me know what you think it's worth. The only issues I see are some poor body repairs on the door lower corners and the left rear wheel opening was knicked by a lawn mower. Underside is solid.
My pictures are too large and the attachment upload showed an error message. Any idea how I can shrink the photos? Most are about 130K? in size.

You will have to go into paint and resize them or if you can take new pics set the resolution on your camera to 640*480

You can also upload them into photobucket and it will resize them automatically for you and you can use them to host your pics so you can post them here.

Yer a body guy so I know you wouldn't have bought this unless it was fairly solid...and if it runs as good as it looks and no issues with the interior/suspension/steering/brakes I'd say around $8-10K.??? ( but I bet ya paid $5)

Definitely has an early 80's feel to it, but it looks like a great car to work with. Engines are always tough to gauge without tearing them down and inspecting them (what you were told vs what it really is) but judging by the looks, it looks real good. I think you're down to just the cosmetic and personal preference changes. $10K? Just a wild guess.
If it were mine, I'd...
- put properly sized air cleaner on that lets it breathe
- change the ladder bars for a set of caltracs
- lose the console and horseshoe shifter
- better bucket seats
- new tires + rims (maybe just polish the slots...dunno...needs more backspace)
- lower it a tad
- lose some of the chromed doodads (hood hinges, etc)
- drive the wheels off it!
So...that's my plans for it...what are yours? (Feel free to say it's perfect just the way it is...)

Nice Nova. I wouldn't change anything. It is a very nice correct looking 80's hotrod. That is the look some people are working hard to recreate. Some of those parts are getting hard to find. The car looks to me like it has a good theme to it and most everything is from the same era. Too many people mix different themes together and come up with frankenstein..... Very Nice. Can you get some more pictures for us "day 2 guys"

I'll get some more photos up. Future plans for the car are a 468 with a big shot plate, 5 speed tremec TKO600, or Jerico, or a street Lenco depending on how many coins I can save up, dana 60 or ford nine rearend. And a complete rotissery body restoration. The Ladder bars will go although I sure dig the visual attitude they create. Also like the old school mags.
Current plans are to do some tuning on the blower motor and check out the condition, do some cruizing before the teardown and sell the engine/trans/rearend.
I was guessing the value at around $10K as is, thanks for the input. I'll put the parts up in the classifieds here so any of you guy's will have first dibs when they're ready for sale.

If you plan to ever race the car, all that rubber fuel line will have to go.

I love this car. Other than freshening it up I wouldn't change a thing about it.
