Anyone have any experience in remounting a bench seat to gain some leg room?
I like my bench seat as its comfortable for road trippen.

I like my bench seat as its comfortable for road trippen. 74350 16th-September-2008, 03:19 PM all id do is move it back and up 1/4 inch just make a piece to move it back the stock bolt holes are made for it so ifyou want it back 3 inches make a plate of 1/4 in steel make it 5 inch by 2 inch and round over the edges then bolt through the plate to the original seat mounts then bolt through the seat and plate through the floor and use a big fender washer under the floor it works and is stronger than the stock setup taz3 16th-September-2008, 08:20 PM I find that 3rd gear (4spd) is hard to reach when I have the seat in a comfy spot!:(I'm 5'9" 69Proof 16th-September-2008, 11:04 PM I will pull it out tonight and see whats up. I have 2 Summit bucket seats I want to see what they look like installed first. Most people tell me I won't like them, but I would prefer the bench seat, I'm not to thrilled about drilling holes in my floor. 74350 16th-September-2008, 11:52 PM holes are alright as long as they are supported and as long as they are sealed just get an undercoating or gromett and then youre good now buckets id build a frame for them so they sit like the bench and only use the stock holes | |
