Picked up some "new" shoes for the Nova today at the Long Beach swap meet. Got an killer deal on a set of Camaro SS wheels/tires & 2" adapters.

Threw them on the car for mock up. Tires are 245/45/17's.

2 of the rims came with 275/40 17 BFG drag radials. They fit in the back by a hair. With a lip roll they would have worked, but more than likely I'll just pick up another set of 245's and just run those on all the way around for now.

We were looking at doing the same thing but unsure if it would fit!! Can you share all the exact info? Wheel size? tire size front and rear? Adapter info and thickness? Finally someone who has done it and can share info!!!!!!!!! Any rubbing when you turn or on bumps? More pics in the day light please!! With some close ups. Could you go 225 or 235 in front or is 245 the smallest for the wheel width?

Are you bringing it to the bbq?

The suspension is completely stock with drum brakes. The wheels are stock Camaro SS 17x9 (most aftermarket ZR1s are 17x9.5). The adapter/spacers are 2" all the way around. The tires in the pictures are 245/45/17's.

Everything clears, except the tierod end touches when I turn the front. Plan to add some 1/8" thick grade 8 washers to space the steering arm away from the spindle to get the clearance. I've seen Camaro guys do this with good results.

With a fender roll and a little stiffer rear suspension (mine is worn out), the 275's would work in the back. I still might try to go that route. They look good.

I have 17x9.5 ZR1's w/275/40/17's on the front of my Formula. I may try one of them to see if they work.

Is 245's the narrowest you can run on those 9" wheels? How do they look? Could you go 235's?

I'm not sure. I think narrower than 245's will have the chance of looking stretched. Of course, allot of that depends on the manufacture of the tire.

I always wondered what the ZR1 style wheels would look like on a nova!

looks good!

I think I should swap mine over someday

My other car has ZR1's too.

For some reason I don't think the 315's will fit the Nova without major surgery ;)

Got the front end done. I added 2 washers (~1/8th") between the steering arm and the spindle. Tie-rod end now clears the rim with extra room.

With the 245's the steering goes lock to lock without touching the fender wells.

At the recommendation of friends, I'm going to change the fender bolts to button heads for added clearance at the outer fender well.

All in all I'm very happy with this setup. Now I just need a couple rear tires to complete the look.

Anyone need a set of used 275/40 17 BFG DR's?

http://www.njfboa.org/forums/showthread.php?t=36602&highlight=tiresThanks for looking out, but I'm currently tinkering with the 275's. I *might* have something figured out to get them to fit in the back :)

I think we are going to go 17 x 8 and go 235's up front and 255 out back! I wish we knew if we could cram 275's out back but with 8" wheels it probably not likely. We are looking at going with the Mustang Bullitt wheels! They look like Torque thrusts but cheaper!!

After allot of tinkering with adapter/spacers I was able to cram the 275/40 17's in the back.

Since these cars were built to such tight tolerances, I ended up with a 1.5" spacer on the drivers side and a 1" spacer on the passenger side. :turn:

Installed DSE 3" lower springs and Konis in the rear this past weekend. Plan to do a DSE coil over front subframe with the motor, but there is a chance that I will do the subframe before the motor swap.

Fronts don't rub anywhere. I did remove the top "lip" bolt for the inner fenderwell because it could have touched on full compression.

Sorry I missed the question, looks like someone already sent you in the right direction. Ebay is the place, most local shops wanted $100+ for 2 adapters. You can get them on ebay for $70. Here's the guy I bought mine from:
