On my 68 nova it is 4 speed with a console and no gauges. There is a shift pattern sticker on the shift plate, does anyone repoduce them? With the sticker do you still use a black ball with the shift pattern made into it or a crome ball?

Jeff,
I never seen the console plate with a sticker. I will have to check my original but I don't think it had the shift pattern sticker on it. I would stay with the black shifter ball if you are going with the hurst shifter. If you are going with an original muncie shifter I think the chrome ball is correct.

It is a muncie shifter, if it had a crome ball wouldnt it have to have a shift pattern sticker? It looks original.

I haven't seen a shift pattern plate on a Nova console. That one looks like what is on a 68-69 Camaro.
I have seen some '68 Nova consoles with the seat belt retainer hooks riveted to them.

My 68 console had those seat belt hooks also. They did a number on the plastic. I had to fix all the crack's and decided not to but them back on to avoid future damage.

Jason, Allen thanks for your input. That makes sense Allen that someone put a camaro shift plate on. It has the black ball with the shift pattern in it, that looks original.

Thats definitely a Nova console shift plate. The '68-'69 Camaro console shift plate have the mounting holes farther apart than the Nova. Also the shift pattern on the Camaro are embossed, not a sticker.

Thanks for the picture Dan, Its seems like everything else on a 68 there's allways something different about them. It seems that alot of the big block cars were bench seat when they came with a 4 speed and not a console. I am going to try to make the sticker and put it on.

The console wasn't a big seller the first couple years, even 69 had just over 2000 car with them and that includes all SS's.
